I was never like the other kids. I didn’t draw pictures with pleasure, I didn’t pay special attention to it. My mom is into art, so I chose art high school. It was the first time in my life that I personally came into contact with art. At that time I was maybe like every other teenager who was absolutely not into anything. I even chose a major that my mom didn’t get into. At that time it was not common for women to pursue sculpture. That’s how my art journey began.
My first year of high school was challenging. I had a spinal injury right before school started. But the stress left me quickly. Slowly I began to learn about art. Exploring new materials. Learning about everything. Of course it took me twice as long as I had no idea what to do or where to start. Of course, my first models didn’t look the best and the biggest paradox was that I never found a way.
In college, I chose materials that were interesting and sometimes unconventional. Of course, over time I had to think about the price of the material, because sculpture is not the cheapest thing. I started using recyclable materials like plastic and glass bottles. In fact, my entire master’s thesis was made of used (but cleaned) glass bottles.
My head was spinning all the time. I was nervous, but on the other hand I was happy to start with art. The last few years I tried to find my own style, but I ended up doing different kinds of art. It wasn’t just sculpting anymore, but I started doing photography, watercolor, digital painting and I just started crocheting. And that’s what my blog is going to be about. About the variety of my interests. About entering my world.
